The ScooNews Global Educators Fest (SGEF) 2022, held from August 4th to 6th at the elegant Jaipur Marriott Hotel, was a spectacular gathering of over 500 educators from India and around the world. Themed “Transforming School Curriculum: Empowering Learning for Life,” the event was a vibrant blend of tradition, innovation, and educational excellence.

The festivities began with an afternoon tour of Jaipur, allowing educators to soak in the city’s rich heritage and enjoy the famous “Jaipur Ki Chai” at Jalmahal. The evening transitioned into a dazzling fashion show at Diggi Palace, hosted by ARCH College of Design and Business. Esteemed educators walked the ramp in Indo-Western outfits designed by ARCH students, featuring a stunning fusion of Rajasthani block prints and modern styles. This unique show, conceptualised by Archana Surana, celebrated the dignity and style of teachers and mentors.

Ravi Santlani, Founder and CEO of ScooNews, delivered a vibrant welcome address, thanking the advisory board members and setting the tone for a day filled with insightful sessions. The sixth-anniversary issue of ScooNews was unveiled by Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur, Rama Dutt, and Dr. Abdulla Rasheed Ahmed, Minister of State for Education, Republic of Maldives. Prince Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar’s address highlighted the respect for teachers in Indian culture and praised the innovative discussions aimed at improving the education system.

The festival was packed with enlightening keynotes and panel discussions. Dr. Abdulla Rasheed Ahmed spoke on transforming education, emphasising the need for adaptability and innovation. Anurag Tripathi, Secretary of CBSE, discussed ethical and holistic reforms in education, particularly focusing on changing the traditional assessment patterns to achieve competency-based education.

Key panels addressed critical topics such as lifelong learning, the necessity of curriculum transformation, and fostering inclusive classrooms. Moderated by esteemed educators, these discussions delved into the importance of equipping students with 21st-century skills, ensuring inclusive education, and the role of design thinking in schools. A session by Divya Lal, CEO of Fliplearn, highlighted the transformative power of data and analytics in learning environments.

The ScooNews Global Education Awards 2022, held at the Jaipur Marriott, recognised exceptional educators, institutions, and startups making significant contributions to education. The awards were presented by Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Dr. Abdulla Rasheed Ahmed, and Ravi Santlani, amidst warm applause from global education leaders. These awards celebrated the outstanding work being done to enhance the learning landscape and inspired the education community to strive for continuous innovation and excellence.

The evening hosted by Devyani Jaipuria was a grand affair, featuring a book launch for “My Good School” by Sandeep Dutt and a performance by the Langa Manganiyars of Jaisalmer. The Jewels of India and Exceptional Schools of India awards honoured the highest standards set by educators across the country. The night was a perfect blend of culture, celebration, and networking, with attendees enjoying traditional Rajasthani entertainment and a sumptuous dinner.

The second day of SGEF 2022 continued with engaging keynotes and discussions. Anurag Tripathi’s keynote on NEP implementation provided actionable insights for educators. Panel discussions explored the integration of technology in education, fostering inclusive classrooms, and the future of teacher training. These sessions emphasised the importance of adapting to the dynamic educational landscape and preparing students for future challenges.

The festival concluded with a hands-on workshop by Prof Manish Jain from IIT Gandhinagar, focusing on making learning engaging and implementing NEP buzzwords in real classrooms. This interactive session provided practical tools and strategies for educators to bring back to their schools.
