Maj. Gen. S. S. Nair AVSM (Retd.)

Born in Kerala, in the year of 1950, Maj. Gen. S. S. Nair was educated in Government schools and colleges. After Post Graduation in Political Science from Kerala University, he joined the Education Corps of Indian Army in 1973 and served the country for 35 years. He retired in 2009 as a Major General – the highest possible rank in Army Education Corps. During his service in the Army, he was posted in various parts of the country. Maj. Gen. S. S. Nair has vast experience in Teaching, Managing Teaching Institutions, Training of Trainers and in Educational Administration.

Post-retirement, he has been working as Director – Birla Education Trust, Pilani (Rajasthan) which manages some of the outstanding schools of the country, including — Birla Public School, Pilani, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani, Birla School Pilani, Pilani etc.

 

Qualifications :
 M.A. (Pol. Science) in 1971 from Kerala University – securing 1 st Division and Rank.
 Masters in Mngt. Studies in 2001 from Osmania University –securing 1 st Division.

 B.Ed.Tech. in 1986 from Sagar University – securing 1 st Division and Gold Medal.

Awards
 Awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card in 1991 – for outstanding performance and devotion to duty for a sustained period of time.
 Awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card in 2002 – for outstanding performance in the fields of Educational Administration.
 He was awarded with the Ati Vishist Seva Medal (A.V.S.M.) by the President of India in 2009 for his exceptional devotion to duty and commitment to the national cause.
