Prodipta Hore, the Program Director at Aditya Birla Education Academy, Mumbai. An alumnus of University of Calcutta and University of Nottingham, he has been teaching Mathematics for over two and half decades and has been a team member to author the CBSE text book in Mathematics under the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics of NCERT. A John Templeton Fellow, he has presented papers at University of Iowa,University of Melbourne, University Rousseau, International Congress on Math Education, World Conference on Gifted and Talented Children at Western Kentucky University amongst others. His stint at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education under Tata Institute of Fundamental Research on projects for Mathematics Laboratory at the middle and high school level and on models of Kepler-Poinsot solids was an immensely satisfying phase in his career. He is the board member of World Mathematics Team Championship. He loves to work with gifted students in Mathematics, preparing them for different national and international Math Competitions. He has a passion and drive to guide teachers in devising creative teaching strategies. At ABEA he is responsible for the overall academic programs; its planning, execution and evaluation. Prodipta started two international level mathematics competitions in India. International Young Mathematicians Convention which takes place every alternative year at City Montessori School, Lucknow, which sees hundreds of math wizards across the world under one roof and INFINITY, which is organized by Aditya Birla World Academy in collaboration with Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences-Pilani, every-year and has become one of the best Mathematics Competition of the country. Prodipta’s passion is to drive the love for Mathematics among all students across the age group. He brings to the table experience as a math teacher, House Master at a boarding school, Head of Department, Vice Principal of Senior School, School Career Counsellor, Co-ordinator of International.
Initiatives and Program Director. Being an educational leader and administrator in charge of all programs and initiatives of a Teachers Professional Development organisation. He is instrumental in partnering with some of the World’s Best Graduate Universities namely University of Pennsylvania GSE, University of Connecticut, University of Nottingham, to impart knowledge on advanced Technology, identification and nurturing of Gifted children and enriched children and on Educational Leadership. The Centre for Talented Youth –Johns’ Hopkins University has also come to partner with Aditya Birla Education Academy under his leadership and conducts the best online courses of the world to spark the mind of talented students. He not only identifies the Gap but also suggests the best of the upskilling workshop that can be provided to any individual or at any school. Due to his diligence in work educators from across the country and overseas has signed up with the academy to upskill teachers. He works closely with faculty to realign the curriculum to the Common Core and modify instruction to best prepare students for the Keystone exams. He works collaboratively with teachers to ensure that students achieve academically in a safe learning environment. Evaluating the progress of the students and supervising and appraising the performance of the teachers. He also conducts workshops on How to make Teaching and Learning of Mathematics Interesting for Students, Mathematics as Second Language, Concept based Teaching and learning in Mathematics and a number of workshops on Core competency areas. His objective of reaching out to educators from every different types of schools has helped the organisation the task of training teachers Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation schools, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Schools, Don Bosco group of schools, Aditya Birla Public Schools, and lately the responsibility of training almost 10000 teachers along the Punjab-Pakistan border unprivileged schools.
His greatest strengths include collaborative leadership, strategic planning, empowering educators to develop their leadership and instructional skills, independent academic program development in technology, science, and math, coordination and leadership in the community and pedagogical programs, and identification/implementation of organizational programs. He fosters strong working relationships with local and school communities and facilitates the integration of initiatives designed to enhance the school environment.
